Carolyn Lutz Celebrates 45 Years at Community Care Center of Hondo
HONDO, TEXAS, June 28, 2017 (Newswire.com) - On June 19, 2017, Carolyn Lutz celebrated her 45th anniversary as the Business Office Manager at Community Care Center of Hondo. The facility opened in 1965 and Lutz has been a faithful friend and employee at the facility since she started in 1972 when it was called Brown’s Nursing Home.
Lutz began her career at Community Care Center of Hondo when she was just 19 years old. She graduated from Medina Valley High School and initially got a job at Jack Winkler Motors in Hondo, Texas. She worked there until one day she got a call from her best friend’s mother who was the Administrator at the facility, who encouraged her to take a job there. Although lots of duties were unfamiliar to her, she was determined to learn all the necessary skills to be successful in that role. She has always been passionate about working with the elderly and assisting them with the transition from home to a Skilled Nursing Facility.

The staff at Community Care Center of Hondo all enjoy having the privilege of working with Carolyn. Theresa Williams, Administrator of the facility said Carolyn is such a lovely, classy lady and has always been kind and genuine to everyone she meets. “Her friendliness and overall assistance are what makes us all a good team,” Williams said. “She not only performs her daily duties but manages to assist all the other departments as well.”
When Lutz is asked why she has been employed with Community Care Center of Hondo for so long doing the same job, she said, “When I first started at the facility, I knew I was going to grow up here and learn new systems each day. It has been 45 years and I’m still learning and I still enjoy talking to the residents and family members. I enjoy helping people and want to assist them in the best way I can.”
