Carla Y. Gunter's Newly Released "Overcoming Emotional Cancer" Is Written to Empower Women, Who Are Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and Sexual Assault.

"Overcoming Emotional Cancer" from Christian Faith Publishing author Carla Y. Gunter is a story of overcoming addiction, low self-esteem, low self-worth, rejection and an empty heart by filling it with the love and devotion of Jesus Christ.

Overcoming Emotional Cancer”:  is an inspirational and empowering story for women who feel powerless against their circumstances and desperately want to be made whole again. Gunter too was once in that place of desperateness and did not know where to turn until she found Christ. Christ is now the head of Gunter’s life and she speaks to women and girls telling them about how the love of Christ made her whole and that He can do the same for them.  “Overcoming Emotional Cancer” is the creation of published author, Carla Y. Gunter.

Carla is a survivor of sexual, verbal and emotional abuse and now has a Master’s degree in counseling. She counsels girls that are victims of childhood sexual abuse; as well as women that are adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She specializes in marriage and family counseling as well.

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Carla Y. Gunter’s new book will resonate with the reader and fire them up deep in their soul.  This story teaches that all things are possible with the love and acceptance of God.

Carla grew up being sexually molested by the only man that she knew as her dad. He adopted her when she was two years old, after marrying her mother when she was one years old. He would shower her with gifts and candy, as her mother silently watched by. Her mother resented his affection towards Carla and began to treat her as someone that she could have done without. Carla loved her mother dearly. She was constantly reaching out to her mom for her love and affection, only to get more rejection. Carla’s mother loved her, but she suffered from depression and her worth was all tied up in her husband. As much as she loved him and submitted to his every need, he continued to abuse her verbally and mentally.  All Carla knew, was to protect her mother. Her mother would tell her she was going to kill herself and Carla’s father would tell her to take care of her mother. Carla was an only child and always felt it was her job to keep her mother safe. She could never tell her mother what her father was doing to her because, she would surely kill herself. Carla went through life feeling she was not important. She did not feel she had any value or worth in this world. Carla felt insignificant and irrelevant. She went through life using drugs, alcohol and men to numb her pain until God came into her life.
