California Teen Treatment Center Implements Panels for Local Schools
Insight Treatment hosts "Mental Health Week" for students to discuss issues and reduce stigma.
Los Angeles, CA , June 26, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Insight Treatment, a center focused on treatment programs for teens, will delegate future panels for local Glendale schools, allowing students to communicate with each other about mental health. When adolescents and negative stigmas coalesce it often hinders communication on account of fear. In terms of mental health, or other related topics, there lies a fear of ridicule from those needing support and encouragement during a hard time. Frederik Schulin, the CEO and partner, fully understands the struggles students face in school. Which is why these panels have come into fruition, helping students find support within their peers while diminishing negative stigmas which follow these tough topics.
As mentioned by Schulin, “Students speaking with their peers is a powerful thing. We can take their experiences and learn. Opening up on these personal topics brings everything to light, including solutions.”

Insight Treatment is a Pasadena rehab center, conveniently located in northern Los Angeles. Although the panels will mainly be in the Glendale district, Schulin’s hopes are the event will branch out and spread into other school districts. For lack of better words, he wants to keep the conversation going. By creating a “mental health support system” he will be doing just that.
Insight is a treatment center, there are opportunities for teens to be involved in other activities the center offers. For instance, Insight Academy, a distance learning program that gives teens an alternate way to meet their academic obligations. Giving these teens time to step away from their typical school setting and be a part of a therapeutic study environment is a way for them to recharge. During the summer Insight also offers classes, beach days, and field trips to theme parks. Treatment is not restricted to a simple client to therapist relationship, with Insight it extends farther.
Opening the conversation through these panels is just the tip of the iceberg for what Insight aims to do for the community. Insight also provides educational opportunities for teens that are not doing well in a traditional school environment and can offer a bridge back to the school they left or help them graduate using alternative programs.
According to Schulin, "Breaking the silence empowers and inspires our teens to live fuller lives with each others’ support."
