Purple Soc. Coop. has launched Browser for Kids, its latest iOS app dedicated to a safer use of internet for children and teens. Available to be downloaded at € 1.59 from the iTunes store, Browser for Kids has been created for children's use and has been designed to provide parents with powerful control tools. Browser for Kids will let you choose which sites may or may not be displayed while your children are exploring the web.

Each year, on 7th February, the world celebrates the Safer Internet Day: an occasion to think about the hidden risks behind an unrestricted use of internet by children and teens. For some families and environments the widespread use of internet and online technologies is still a fairly recent issue, which is why parents often do not know how to deal with the increasing demands of children to explore the web autonomously. While in most cases parents and adults find easier to put radical restrictions and forbid the use of online technologies, from a practical and pedagogical point of view censorship is not the right attitude to solve the issue permanently.

Browser for Kids is a useful tool for all those parents who refuse the logic of the ban and would rather prefer to check in advance all contents children are exposed to while using online technologies. Compatible with iPad and requiring iOS 5.0 or later, Browser for Kids is specifically designed for children and it is simple and intuitive to use for parents. You will easily configure up to 8 allowed websites and each one will have a dedicated button in the home screen, in order to provide a one-touch immediate access. Similarly, parents can also choose up to 8 sites to which access is strictly prohibited and protected by a password. Together with ensuring maximum security for children, Browser for Kids can also be adopted in workplaces, especially in case you need to avoid employees' navigation in inappropriate sites and social networks. In addition, users can also configure advanced settings customization, by allowing only some sites' domains navigation.

As for further features, Browser for Kids was designed to ensure maximum compatibility and to support GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HDSPA and WiFi network. With a user interface designed specifically for children, this app also supports pinch-to-zoom and a time limit setup.
