Located in Williamsburg, NY, Rose Red & Lavender is a well-respected flower shop and gardening center. Owner Kimberly Sevilla has found that many of her more creative brides wanted to take part in creating their wedding flowers but without professional support, find the process to be daunting.
Kimberly loves all the different ideas that her brides bring to her and has and decided to open up her studio and offer assistance to help them create their own wedding flowers. There are many small details that go into the creation of boutonnières, corsages and bouquets, and many tricks that the professionals know. She wants to give her support to people who want to make their own flowers to help ease the stress and to be successful.
The sessions last up to four hours and can fit up to six people. Flowers and materials can be purchased separately or at the shop. Rose Red and Lavender will supply all the basic tools and the brides will furnish the finishing touches like ribbon and trim.
"I have seen so many brides who want to be able to take an active role in their wedding decor including supplying containers, making boutonnières and corsages or even centerpieces, and now I am offering them the extra help that they need to have professional results", says Ms. Sevilla.
Kimberly Sevilla is well known for her personal attention and creativity when it comes to wedding flowers and she wants to take this a step further by actively involving the bride and her friends.
This is a true DIY experience, Kimberly and the staff will be on hand to answer any questions and offer guidance, the bridal party will make all the creations. Prices start $275 for a four-hour session. It is recommended that the studio is reserved the day before the wedding. For those who still may be a bit nervous about taking on the challenge, of doing their own wedding, Kimberly also offers classes in floral design where she teaches the basics.
