"Brian Williams for President Campaign" Launches

Brian Williams for President Campaign begins with a new website, three campaign ads, posters and volunteer corps.

Upon recognizing the across-the-board appeal and universal likability of NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, a group of passionate fans are announcing the "Campaign to Get Brian Williams to Consider Running for President." This nonpartisan exploratory committee sees Brian Williams as the ideal candidate for the new Brian Williams Party, a political party that hopes to leverage Williams' widespread name recognition and general greatness.

"Brian Williams is already a central member of the American household," says Eric Cunningham, one of the Campaign's six full-time campaign staffers. "Now we just need people to realize that same gentle-yet-firm approach to news anchoring can be applied to running the free world."

Plans are already underway to get Williams' to let the campaign put his name on the ballot in 2012, or any election year he feels like. "As far as I'm concerned, he will be Commander in Chief. Everyone loves that guy. The biggest hurdle is that, let's be honest: Brian Williams is too big for the presidency," adds Electoral Strategist Jared Bloom.

Based primarily out of New York City, the Campaign hopes to raise awareness in Williams' adopted home via discreet flyering, a peer-to-peer whisper campaign, three campaign ads, and the newly launched http://www.BrianWilliamsForPresident.com website.

Chief of Community Organizing Zara Findlay-Shirras is responsible for organizing the grassroots elements of the campaign, including recruiting additional fans of Brian Williams. "People love his reporting, they love him on 30 Rock, and his music web series 'BriTunes' is one of the most innovative projects out there," she says. "Between that and his general charm and lovability, momentum is on our side."

Statistically, Brian Williams is positioned as the best evening news anchor to run for President. With Nightly News consistently beating all competition since 2007, Brian Williams is the clear choice for America's highest office. "If Diane Sawyer or Scott Pelley decided to run, it wouldn't even be close. Williams, by a landslide," adds Pollster Guru Brendan Collins. "People just love that guy, there's no way around it."

"Come on. Name one person who doesn't like Brian Williams. Think of a single person. You can't do it," adds Speechwriter Mike Winton. "He's like the Michael Jordan of news. Or Meredith Vieira of nighttime."

While support is generated in the nation's media capital of New York, Government Relations Strategist Marc Georges is already on the ground in Washington DC, working to garner political support among the nation's smarter government leaders.

Anyone interested in joining the Campaign is urged to go to http://www.BrianWilliamsForPresident.com and sign up for the campaign mailing list. The list will alert supporters of campaign rallies, news coverage and any other BriWi events relevant to the campaign.
