Braden Power Makes Contribution to Promise House for At-Risk Youth
Sleep Out - A Night Under The Stars event raises funds for homeless & runaway youth.
Dallas, Texas, October 31, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Braden Power, founder of Power Properties, contributed over $5,000 to help sponsor Promise House’s Sleep Out - A Night Under The Stars event on Thursday, November 9th, 2017. The event, which coincides with National Runaway Prevention Month, intends to both raise awareness and funds for all homeless, at-risk, and runaway youth in the greater Dallas area.
Promise House is leading the charge to end homelessness in North Texas. Their free programs include life-saving emergency shelter, transitional housing, pregnant and parenting teen support, counseling, education, and outreach services. They are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for children, teens, and families in crisis.
At the Promise House Sleep Out, participants will spend the night engaged in conversation about the issues affecting homeless and at-risk youth, as well as what they can do both directly or indirectly in order to advocate for change. Courtesy of Promise House, participants will also be given a sleeping bag and a piece of cardboard to experience firsthand a night in the life of a homeless youth, sleeping in the Promise House parking lot.
All proceeds raised at A Night Under The Stars will support a few of Promise House’s new initiatives, of which include providing residential services to LGBT and former foster youth and more specialized services for victims of child sex trafficking.
Promise House is still accepting donations for this event from individuals who would like to participate. They have currently raised almost $86,000, which puts them at around 57 percent of their fundraising goal of $150,000. Learn more about their sponsorship opportunities or make a donation today!
