Bollywood Movie Lamhaa Cast on Indian Idol

Online, July 21, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The stars were there to promote their film. They interacted with the contestants who in turn enthralled the audiences with their mellifluous rendition of songs. That day's episode was based on 'Qawwali', a traditional form of group music lead by a solo singer. Indial Idol, an adaptation of Pop Idol, is into its fifth season this year. The show is a search for talented singers. The winner of this musical reality show bags a contract worth a crore with Sony Entertainment Television and also gets the opportunity to be a playback singer for Yashraj Films next movie. This season has two new judges, female playback singer, Sunidhi Chauhan and music director Salim Merchant. The third judge continues to be music director Anu Malik, who has been associated with the show since its inception in 2004.
Lamhaa is a film by Rahul Dholakia. The film is set in the Kashmir valley and addresses the issue of terrorism that has been haunting the valley for long now. Sanjay Dutt plays a military officer who has been assigned the task of unearthing a suspected terror attack, while Bipasha Basu plays his love interest. Together they set out to discover the truth. The film has veteran actor Anupam Kher and Kunal Kapoor in supporting roles. Rahul Dholakia is known to translate reality into celluloid with mastery. He proved that with his first film, 'Parzania' based on the Gujarat riots. Let's hope that he will drive home a point with this film too.
