BMI Signs Frequent Flyer Partnership with Jet Airways India

Online, October 14, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Jet Airways, the second largest carrier in India, has announced that they have made a reciprocal frequent flyer partnership with bmi British Midland International). The UK carrier is the second largest to operate at Heathrow Airport in London, which is one of the best-connected and busiest international hubs in the world.
The Indian carrier has frequent flyer partnership agreements with 22 other leading international airlines. This includes Austrian Airways, Brussels Airlines, All-Nippon Airways, Gulf Air, JetLite, Cathay Pacific, Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Turkish Airlines, South African Airways, Kenya Airways, Dragon Air, Qantas Airways, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Swiss Air, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, KLM and Virgin Atlantic.
Under this newest deal, the members of Jet Airways' JetPrivilege loyalty scheme are able to earn and redeem their frequent flyer miles for bmi flights. In turn, members of bmi's Diamond Club loyalty program are able to earn and redeem miles for flights with Jet Airways and their budget airline, Jet Airways Konnect.
Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, the chief commercial officer for Jet Airways, says that they offer connectivity to their customers throughout India that is unmatched, as well as have a growing international network of 23 destinations. The network operated by bmi spans Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the UK from Heathrow Airport, he continued. Both airlines will benefit from this partnership, he added, as it will allow travelers to earn and redeem miles for flights on both networks.
Businesses, particularly in the travel industry, have been doing all they can to attract more customers, including partnering loyalty programs, consolidating services or merging altogether. This is just one of the most recent business deals made during this wave.
