Blue-Emu & The All Veteran Parachute Team Surprise a School
Online, December 19, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Look up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's - Santa Claus?
Blue-Emu, along with their parent company, NFI Consumer Products, arranged for the All Veteran Parachute Team to visit W.H. Owens Elementary School on Thursday. Making a grand entrance from the sky, the team parachuted in with a special surprise for the kids: they brought Santa Claus and apparently he doesn't need a sleigh.
"Not only is it in the spirit of the season, but in the aftermath of the recent events in Sandy Hook, we just wanted to bring some cheer to the kids. It's important," explained NFI Chairman Richard Guy.
The All Veteran Parachute Team is made up of military veterans bringing awareness to the needs of veterans. Tandem master Mike Elliott is the lead jumper and known for his tandem jumps with some of the most influential personalities in the world, including two jumps with former President George H. Bush. Santa Claus landed on the school field to a group of the elementary students ranging from Kindergarten age through 5th grade.
"Mrs. Claus makes me train with Mike every year before Christmas Eve, just in case something goes wrong with the reindeer or the sleigh and I have to use my reserve parachute," Santa Claus explained. "Surprising the kids was just a bonus!"
