Background:

The goal of the biodiesel industry is not to replace petroleum diesel, but to extend its usefulness. Biodiesel is one of several alternative fuels that have a place in the development of a balanced energy policy. The role of biodiesel is to contribute to the longevity and cleanliness of diesel engines which is good for our environment as the exhaust fume is much cleaner than conventional diesel as fuel.

Process details for the project was provided by our client:
This section outlines the process for making bio diesel fuel from new vegetable oil. The materials needed are vegetable oil, methanol, and lye. If you are using new vegetable oil, always use 3.5 grams of lye per liter of oil. This transesterification process is then subject to washing, glycerin removal as by-product and thereafter contineous distillation for product.
