"Beat The Heat" Makes Eastern Kentucky Debut At Bluegrass Raceway

Non-profit organization Beat The Heat makes its Eastern KY debut at Bluegrass Raceway 5/22/10. Race real police officers in modified patrol cars for bragging rights and an official "I Beat the Heat" t-shirt in an effort to keep kids off the streets.

For the first time ever in Eastern Kentucky, Bluegrass Raceway presents: Beat the Heat! How would you like to pull up next to a real police officer, challenge them to a drag race, and not get arrested? On Saturday, May 22nd, racers from all over Kentucky and abroad will converge on the IHRA-sanctioned drag strip of Bluegrass Raceway with one goal in mind: bringing home the bragging rights and t-shirt to prove that they "Beat the Heat."

In association with the Medley Florida police department, officers from GA, TN, WV, OH, and not-for-profit organization Beat the Heat (www.beattheheatinc.org), Bluegrass Raceway is giving you the opportunity to race real police officers in modified patrol cars.

As featured on Good Morning America, The Travel Channel, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox news, and more, Beat the Heat is a national non-profit organization comprised of Police Officers and Firefighters who conduct educational programs using marked emergency vehicle drag cars to educate the young people of our communities. See footage from previous events at our sister track's website: www.countylinedragwayinc.com.

Beat the Heat aims to educate young people about the problems of illegal drug and alcohol use and the horrors of impaired and distracted driving, to encourage youth to stay in school and be an achiever in life, to promote a better understanding between the police and the communities they serve and, to educate the general public about the sport of drag racing, and encourage everyone to race on the drag strip, not in the street.

The Eastern Kentucky debut of Beat the Heat at Bluegrass Raceway happens Saturday, May 22nd. Anyone can race, anyone can watch. Help support the efforts of Bluegrass Raceway to get the kids off the street and if they must race, to do so responsibly.
