Bandhoo Raised Fund For Polio Affected Children

Polio epidemic in India has deformed thousands of people, mostly young children. Bandhoo focuses on the isolated and helpless section of society and aims to setup vaccination programs in the country by raising funds.

Bandhoo, a nonprofit organization, aims to serve the under-privileged section of the society and help them live a meaningful life they deserve. They are dedicated to the cause of children suffering from Polio and help them become valuable contributing members of our society. The Bandhoo mission is based on a simple premise - poverty cycle can only be broken if the poor have the skills to compete on equal terms for opportunities. The mission, therefore, is built around the total development of a child. Bandhoo aims to provide an efficient and effective platform for individuals interested in donating charities ( http://www.bandhoo.org/DonationSearch.aspx ) to help the weaker sections of society. They strive to provide financial support for basic needs including healthcare, primary education etc which goes a long way in eradicating poverty.

One of the main focus areas of their service is Polio eradication. This disease mainly affects children under five years of age and is known to cause lifelong paralysis and potentially fatal infections. Polio cannot be cured, but it can be prevented with a safe and effective oral vaccine. Bandhoo in an effort to eradicate polio is stepping up its social mobilization efforts at mass levels by assembling local authorities, women and youth groups and connecting them with donors from across the world. They reach out to the most remote and inaccessible regions in India and work at grass root level to cleanse the society of diseases. Bandhoo builds public / private partnerships to address India's most pressing problems, and works to broaden support for the under-privileged.

Bandhoo is a reliable platform for donors to connect with individuals and charity-organizations such as charity for disabled children ( http://www.bandhoo.org/disabled-support.aspx ) , charities for the homeless ( http://www.bandhoo.org/Elderly-and-homeless-support.aspx ) , charities for battered women and more.

Recently, Bandhoo raised fund for Thirupathamma, elderly child of daily-waged parents in chilakaluripet village in Andhra Pradesh, India. She was affected by Polio in her childhood and has been disabled since then. The generous donations made by Donors, helped the child obtain a wheel chair and she can now move around independently.
