Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program Now Offered at Gurnick Academy at Concord, CA Campus
CONCORD, Calif., March 2, 2020 (Newswire.com) - Gurnick Academy proudly announces its new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. By receiving approval, our program has demonstrated that it meets the standards set forth by the California Board of Registered Nurses (BRN).
The BSN Program equips students with advanced skills and training, setting up graduates to qualify for higher-level positions. The curriculum will teach students to promote public health by applying newly learned knowledge to innovate healthcare delivery in a public health setting. Graduates will be able to provide insight, assistance, and teaching of healthcare in response to the growing needs of public health in at-risk communities.
The BSN program has three pathways. The complete pathway is 33 months long and was developed for qualified applicants to enroll in a pre-licensure nursing program. The LVN to BSN pathway is 15 months in length and intends to provide Licensed Vocational Nurses to earn their BSN degree. Finally, the Online RN to BSN Program pathway is for RNs seeking further education and career opportunities.
“The creation of a BSN program at Gurnick Academy’s Concord campus answers the call of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN),” according to Dean of Nursing, Samantha Manlosa-Sanchez. “Implementation of the program aims to train and mentor nurses who are ready and equipped with the proper tools and mindset to care for their patients."
Enrolling in the BSN program is an excellent opportunity for upward career mobility. Nurses are equipped with clinical reasoning and leadership skills. They will avail the community to tackle diseases of increasing complexity.
Gurnick Academy envisions producing nurses readily marketable as they enter the workforce. The AACN strongly encourages a nursing community that is highly educated and designed to meet the healthcare demands of the public.
"Gurnick Academy commits to safeguarding the community by graduating competent nurses. We expect graduates will be capable of systematically thinking through scenarios and making safe, efficient decisions,” explained Samantha.
Acquiring the BSN credential provides a means for higher earning potential, develops professional integration, and leads to leadership & management opportunities. Forecast project employment of registered nurses to grow 12 percent from 2018 to 2028.
Growth in the field is expected to occur due to an increased emphasis on preventive care, growing rates of chronic conditions, and demand for healthcare services from aging populations.
