Award Winning Movers Tips For Daycare
Get tips on finding a daycare in your area from Move Consultant Heather Evans of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK.
Online, June 16, 2011 (Newswire.com) - There are so many things to get done and organize when moving into a new neighborhood. From scheduling the movers all the way to little mundane tasks like how will you arrange your new home, what is the alarm code? How do you work this new garage door opener? Where is the light switch for the kitchen? And then the big important question: How do I find a preschool/daycare for my little ones?
This can be a daunting task for sure. I have put together a list of questions and things to find out before placing you're your little one in their care.
First and foremost: Is the facility legal?
Are they registered with the state? Seek proof, get the permit number and verify. Just because they once were-doesn't mean they currently are.
Are the teachers certified or have degrees in early childhood education?
Does the staff have their first-aid certificates up-to-date?
CPR Certification current?
As you're checking the licensing and certifications, how do you feel? What's the atmosphere like there? Do they provide a welcoming ambiance?
Is the air circulating or does it feel stagnant?
Is the temperature "just right"?
How does it smell?
Are the lights too bright? Or not bright enough?
Is the landscaping inviting? Is there trash in the parking lot?
Are there outside play areas?
Ask to see a classroom. Watch how the staff interacts with other children.
Do the adults interact well with the children?
Are the instructors friendly?
Do they use age appropriate voice tones and posture?
Do they sing songs to them?
Do they read with the children?
Another important aspect of a daycare center is cleanliness. Ask these questions of the facility and, of course, take a look for yourself as well.
How often are the toys washed?
What do the restrooms look like?
Is there sanitizer available and tissues?
There are so many more questions to ask when looking for a place to leave your children. Use your instinct, if it doesn't feel right, then it probably isn't. Don't be afraid to speak out... ask lots of questions.
