Author Frederick Albert's New Book 'Clans' is a Compelling Work of Political Fiction That Takes Place in Wisconsin in the Fall of 1994

Recent release "Clans" from Newman Springs Publishing author Frederick Albert is a thought-provoking piece of political fiction that introduces Jimmy Brett, who is doing very well for a Wisconsin boy: good looks, great job, house on a lake, and a hot car. However, his life changes dramatically when he buys an old racist book for a quarter at a sidewalk sale.

Frederick Albert, a retired business executive who has written over one hundred articles for magazines and trade journals, has completed his debut novel "Clans": a gripping and potent novel that follows Jimmy as he figures out what to do with the racist book that he purchased at a sidewalk sale.

Jimmy's lover, Marian, takes great offense when she sees the racist book, and Jimmy resolves to get rid of it by utilizing the fledgling World Wide Web. Jimmy finds out quickly that using the Web can put himself and Marian in danger. Seeking to make a huge profit from the sale of the book, Jimmy travels South to meet with a buyer. There, he becomes aware of a terrible plan by white supremacists to kill and maim hundreds of African Americans with the intent of starting a race war.

Meanwhile, Jimmy's friend George Farrell is being honored by his alma mater by becoming grand marshal of the Crispus Attucks State College Homecoming Parade where the white supremacist plan is to take place. Jimmy notifies the authorities of the plot, but he also calls George.

Author Frederick Albert discusses his work, sharing, "For the book, Attucksville, Mississippi, was created as a community mostly (but not entirely) populated by African Americans. The town is named after Crispus Attucks, reportedly the first person killed in the Revolutionary War and an African American. Attucksville State College is likewise created. The treatment of Attucksville as a community is very positive. It is a peaceful place where there is harmony among the residents and the crime is almost nonexistent, thanks to a no-nonsense police chief and a dedicated police force."

He continues, "In creating Attucksville, I researched Africa Town, Alabama, which is a town hewn out of land by African Americans brought to America after the Civil War because of a bet between White landowners. The best seller Barracoon by Zora Neale Hurston and published after her death tells the story of Cudjoe Lewis, a survivor of the Clotilda, the ship that brought these African Americans. The sunken Clotilda was recently discovered and sparked a new interest in the history of Africa Town. In 2012, Africa Town was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but little remains of the town today."

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Frederick Albert's engrossing tale takes readers to the day of the parade, where George's heroics will save many lives. Using Jimmy's information, the FBI and ATF quash the nationwide follow-up plan by arresting many of the leaders of the plot, but the threat continues.

Readers who wish to experience this original work can purchase "Clans" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
