Author Dutch Medford's New Book 'Lost, Recovered, Returned: True Stories of Treasure Hunting in Hawaii' is the Story of the Author's Hunt for Treasures Around Hawaii

Recent release 'Lost, Recovered, Returned: True Stories of Treasure Hunting in Hawaii' from Newman Springs Publishing author Dutch Medford is the true story of the author and his wife collecting various treasures around the islands of Hawaii and returning them to their rightful owners.

Dutch Medford, a career law enforcement officer, has completed his new book “Lost, Recovered, Returned: True Stories of Treasure Hunting in Hawaii”: a gripping and potent depiction of the author’s hunt for treasures around Hawaii.

“As I was writing this book, I realized that of the hundreds of individuals that Pam and I have helped by searching for, finding, and returning their lost jewelry or other assorted personal items over the last twenty-nine years in Hawaii, most items were usually lost in the same or like manner, either in the water or on the beach. Due to this factor, I made the decision to include only those stories of the most unusual losses and returns in this book,” writes Dutch Medford. “Once you have purchased your metal detector, learned how to properly use it, and start detecting with it on the land, on beaches, or in the water, there is only one reason why you should not be finding jewelry and coins: ‘Because you are not using your detector.’”

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Dutch Medford’s captivating tale follows the author and his wife as the couple explore Hawaii and discover hidden treasures. Medford’s first discovery, at the age of eight in Texas, was the treasure that jumpstarted his interesting in treasure hunting: a one-gallon Mason jar filled with silver dollar coins. Ever since then, Medford has been fascinated by finding hidden treasures in the world.

Once Medford and his wife moved to Hawaii twenty-nine years ago, they began to hunt for treasures around the islands of Hawaii. Using underwater metal detectors, the couple have found over one million dollars of lost jewelry and valuables, which have largely been returned to their rightful owners. Using their passion for treasure hunting and helping others, the author and his wife have brought tears of joys to complete strangers’ faces by returning valuables believed to be lost to the sea, beach, or elsewhere.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “Lost, Recovered, Returned: True Stories of Treasure Hunting in Hawaii” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
