Author Charlie E. Hill Sr.'s New Book 'Craving for Acceptance' is an Enlightening Memoir About the Experience of Seeking a Sense of Belonging

Recent release "Craving for Acceptance" from Newman Springs Publishing author Charlie E. Hill Sr. is a reflective memoir that highlights the author's experience of seeking acceptance throughout his storied life.

Charlie E. Hill Sr., born in 1934 in Pickens, Mississippi, has completed his new book "Craving for Acceptance": a gripping and potent memoir that emphasizes the importance of feeling accepted by one's community.

Author Charlie E. Hill Sr. was raised in Laurel, Mississippi. In 1953, he enlisted into the United States Army, serving in Korea, Germany, Alaska, and Camp Desert Rock in Nevada.

Author Charlie E. Hill Sr. begins his memoir, writing, "The life span of my grandpa began, I was told, in Pickens, Mississippi. Where he lived on a plantation. How he arrived there, he was never told. I remember my grandpa was about five feet, eleven inches. To look closer of my grandpa, you could see that he had other blood that ran through his veins than black. Especially his woolly black hair. When questions were asked, there would always be the answer: let sleeping dogs lie. Some would say that Indian blood ran through the veins of my grandpa. In 1880 on the eleventh day of June. He was given the name Cicero Falls because it sounded grand and important. Besides Cicero, the Falls clan included three older brothers, who were known by the names of Bank, Jimmy, and Will. The chores of the Falls clan boys included washing the dishes and cleaning the house. They also had to do the cooking and some fieldwork. This was the workout for their physical bodies. These four boys had three sisters named Mary, Jeannette, and Sweet."

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Charlie E. Hill Sr.'s moving work follows the author's journey of seeking acceptance, which began when his father died. Leaving behind six children and a wife, Hill's father's death certainly left a mark on him. The family was left to rely on his mother's maid salary of only $3 per day, leaving little room for luxuries such as wagon wheel cookies or cans of soda pop.

In his pursuit to satiate his craving for acceptance, something inside him pushed him to join the military. Having his mother sign for him since he was only seventeen at the time, he enlisted. He was lonely in the army, but to his surprise, his loneliness didn't last long. Hill's godmother arranged for a girl named Eleanor to write him. From then on, Hill's journey toward acceptance began in the best of ways.

Hill and Eleanor shared a unique bond, and upon his return to the States, they met in person for the first time and married the next day. Hill and his wife, Eleanor, ultimately parented eleven biological children together.

Readers who wish to experience this meaningful work can purchase "Craving for Acceptance" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
