Author Bringing Her Magic Fishing Panties to Florida State University

The Florida University Bookstore hosts author Kimberly "Kimba" Dalferes on Friday, October 16th, 2015 from Noon to 2 PM. The author, a FSU alumna, will be signing copies of her books, including her new release "Magic Fishing Panties" (Booktrope Publishing, August 2015). A portion of the proceeds from sales will go to the FSU Foundation to support the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

We all have that one incorrigible friend. The person who somehow manages to drag you into the most ridiculous of situations, and then helps you escape with nary a scratch. She’s also the friend who is your get-out-of-jail gal pal, someone you can call day or night for support, comfort, or maybe an emergency loan. Who would ever guess that this bestie-for-life would write a book? That’s exactly what Florida State University alumna Kimberly Dalferes has done and she’s bringing Magic Fishing Panties: More Tales From a Crazy Southern Irish Gal to the FSU Bookstore.

“I am thrilled to host the book signing event for Kimberly Dalferes, to bring her energy, sense of humor, and of course new, extraordinary book Magic Fishing Panties, to the FSU Bookstore and FSU community” noted Anna Woods, FSU Bookstore District Director.

This is Dalferes’ second book. Her first humorous nonfiction story collection, I Was In Love With a Short Man Once, was released in 2011, with a second edition published this past June by Booktrope Publishing. Described as Erma Bombeck with a shot of tequila, the author’s latest collection of humorous tales offers new perspective from the self-proclaimed crazy Southern Irish gal and recent inductee into “Club 50.”

“There are many FSU professors, and Tallahassee bartenders, who won’t be a bit surprised by this new book,” said the author. “However, the fact that I somehow managed to earn a degree while also having the time of my life in college is truly a wonder.” Dalferes added, “My love for FSU runs deep; I never miss an opportunity to shout ‘GO NOLES!’ at parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs, and, occasionally, in a random port-a-potty.”

Dalferes will be signing copies of her books at the FSU Main Bookstore from Noon to 2 pm on Friday, October 16th. A portion of the proceeds from sales will go to the FSU Foundation to support the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
