Morse Micro develops Wi-Fi HaLow chips. HaLow builds on the ieee 802.11ah standard and services the growing number of Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Wi-Fi HaLow extends Wi-Fi into the 900MHz band. Compared to 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, the 900MHz band is well suited for low power devices due to its ability to reach further and improved penetration of walls. Wi-Fi HaLow devices will provide core benefits of Wi-Fi that people have come to expect today, including multi-vendor interoperability, strong government grade security and easy setup.
"We are excited to join the Wi-Fi Alliance," said Andrew Terry, co-CEO of Morse Micro. "We are looking forward to working with industry leaders in developing a Wi-Fi HaLow eco-system which will enable the Internet of Things."
