A valuable but overlooked sector of the industry is the analytical laboratory testing that provides consumers and producers with accurate product information. Aurum Labs of Durango, CO rapidly obtained all currently available state certifications for potency and safety testing.
“I am extremely grateful for our amazing team of scientists that have worked tirelessly to develop and validate our cutting-edge Cannabis testing methods in record time,” said Tyler D’Spain, Co-Founder and Operations Manager at Aurum Labs. “Our business faced a significant time setback due to the local licensing moratorium on marijuana businesses. Despite cannabis testing labs on the Front Range having a significant head start, we managed to gain the three state certifications before 15 of the 19 labs that are currently licensed.”
Aurum anticipates mandatory Microbial Testing of Retail Marijuana to begin by the end of 2015. Once the required Microbial Testing is enforced, all Retail Marijuana and Retail Marijuana Products will be subjected to both potency and safety testing prior to being transferred to a retail store. “We are entering into a new era of Marijuana regulation and we will learn a great deal in the upcoming years.
