AUM Cardiovascular Wins Gold in Best in Biz Awards 2017

CADence Named Best New Product of the Year in Healthcare

AUM Cardiovascular has been named a gold winner in Best New Product of the Year – Healthcare in Best in Biz Awards, the only independent business awards program judged each year by prominent editors and reporters from top-tier publications in North America.

In 2017 AUM Cardiovascular received FDA approval for the revolutionary diagnostic heart device – CADence™. The CADence System is designed as a tool to assess cardiovascular health through an innovative, non-invasive, zero-radiation test. The device uses sophisticated acoustic detection, wireless electrocardiogram (EKG) and analysis — a very exciting new method that looks for normal, pathological and physiological murmurs.

The CADence handheld device collects heart sound data on four locations of the patient’s chest. A tablet with an app custom built to work with AT&T’s wireless services receives data from the device. The AT&T Global SIM card sends the data in a highly secure manner to AUM's secure server for analysis. The proprietary technology is based on combining ultra-sensitive targeted frequency acoustic wave, ECG measurement and sophisticated computer algorithms. This technology provides a tool for clinicians to assess blood flow changes associated with normal, pathological and physiological murmurs - including intracoronary, cardiac shunts, congestive heart failure, heart valve abnormalities, additional and split heart sounds and findings associated with cardiomyopathy. AUM is currently seeking FDA clearance as a coronary artery disease diagnostic device.

Each year, Best in Biz Awards’ entrants span the spectrum, from some of the most innovative local start-ups to the most recognizable global brands. The seventh annual program was particularly hotly contested, with more than 650 entries from an impressive array of public and private companies of all sizes and from a variety of industries and geographic regions in the U.S. and Canada. Best in Biz Awards 2017 honors were presented in 65 categories, including Company of the Year, Fastest-Growing Company, Most Innovative Company, Best Place to Work, Support Department, Executive of the Year, Most Innovative Product, Best New Product, App, Event and Website of the Year.

“Our AUM team is proud that CADence was selected a Gold Winner by such a highly esteemed group of judges,” said Marie Johnson, AUM CEO. “Our goal is to save lives, reduce costs and bring the best healthcare tool we can to clinicians and healthcare consumers. This award and the impact of this recognition will serve to spread the word about CADence. CADence is now available by prescription in the United States and in many places around the globe.”

“The Internet of Things is helping to drive life-changing results in the healthcare industry by closing the physical gaps between caregivers and their patients,” said Joe Mosele, vice president, Business Development, AT&T Internet of Things Solutions. “We congratulate AUM Cardiovascular on this well-deserved recognition of the innovative CADence System.”

Since 2011, winners of Best in Biz Awards have been determined based on scoring from independent judging panels composed of prominent editors and reporters from some of the most respected newspapers, TV outlets and business, consumer, technology and trade publications in North America. Best in Biz Awards’ uniqueness stems, in part, from this distinct composition of its judging panels, allowing it to best leverage the judges’ unparalleled expertise, experience and objectivity to determine award winners. The 2017 judging panel included: Accounting Today, AdWeek, Associated Press, Atlanta Tribune, Business News Daily, Consumer Affairs, Entrepreneur, eWeek, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Healthcare Innovation News Inc., Investment Advisor Magazine, Laptop, MediaPost, Pittsburgh Business Times, Security Products Magazine, Wired, WLRN and Yahoo Tech.

“Amazing variety in the finalists in Best in Biz Awards this year,” said Christopher Null, Wired, returning to judge the awards for the sixth year. “It was incredibly difficult to pick a winner!”
