ASD Inc. Strengthens Position in Growing Remote Sensing and Mining Industries with Key Market Hires

Addition of remote sensing market manager and channel development managers will meet continued demand for materials measurement solutions in both academic research and commercial markets

ASD Inc., the global leader in high-performance analytical instrumentation and materials analysis solutions, today announced the addition of three key hires to support expansion efforts. The new team members will address evolving customer needs and growing remote sensing and mining industry opportunities utilizing near-infrared spectroscopy.

George Greenwood will serve as senior market manager of remote sensing. Both Casey Pelton and Mark Tuohy will serve as channel development managers for ASD's international markets. All three will work in concert along with the existing ASD sales and marketing team to expand the utilization of ASD's spectroscopy technology for academic and commercial research applications, as well as industrial solutions that are focused on remote sensing and mining technology.

Greenwood has extensive experience utilizing remote sensing technology to drive market and application development for natural resource assessment solutions with high-resolution imagery sensors. Greenwood previously served as founder and CEO of Greenwood Sustainability where he directed the development of a number of strategic Community Wildfire Protection Plans. Greenwood has also provided technical and marketing expertise to drive the development of a wide range of imagery and remote sensing products for both DigitalGlobe and Space Imaging. In his new role at ASD, he will focus on further expanding ASD's dominance in the remote sensing market.

Pelton's experience in sales and marketing operations has driven revenue growth through the development and execution of customer-centric programs. He previously was a managing director at Hands-On Labs, a rapidly growing distance education science organization. He also was vice president of international sales at Metrotech Corporation, where he promoted international sales channels and located key partners for distribution, sales and service. At ASD, Pelton will drive business partnerships for both mining and remote sensing in Central and South America and the Asia-Pacific region.

Tuohy is an international channel business development executive with experience developing and executing channel sales with highly technical products in the geospatial science industry. He previously served as senior sales manager at Intermap Technologies where he led sales efforts for new IFSAR derived elevation data products. Prior to that, he was senior director of international sales for GeoEye, a satellite imaging company. At ASD, Tuohy will harness new channels in remote sensing technologies and mining mineral analysis in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India.

"The remote sensing and mining applications made possible through the use of our analysis solutions have expanded tremendously in the past five years, thanks to our developments in near infrared technology to produce higher quality spectra," said Michael Lands, vice president of sales and marketing. "With these experienced new managers, we will continue to drive to meet the demands of our customers and be the trusted choice for remote sensing, mining exploration and production technology applications."
