What you don't know in law can hurt you. Legendary real estate law icon, Arthur Mazirow shares his seasoned knowledge in a two day seminar.

PHOENIX, AZ - The International Council Of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has invited Arthur Mazirow, Esq., of Mazirow Real Estate Dispute Resolution to speak at the Arizona Biltmore Resort for their annual U.S. Shopping Center Law Conference in Phoenix, October 26-28, 2011. Mazirow will be participating in a seminar entitled, "Binding Arbitration: What Real Estate and Lease Lawyers Do NOT Know Can Hurt Them."

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) founded in 1957, has 50,000 members in the U.S. and Canada, and is made up of shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers and other professionals as well as academics and public officials.

Mazirow's conference discussion topics will include: why transactional real estate lawyers must have an understanding of the arbitration process; a primer on drafting arbitration clauses; and the pros and cons of whether the real estate appraiser should also be the arbitrator.

Mazirow's seminar will also address whether to include binding arbitration provisions in leases and real estate contracts; choosing arbitrators; costs; drafting considerations; initiating an arbitration; enforcing arbitration clauses; appealing arbitration awards; choosing an ADR organization, their function and why the ADR organization can be very important. There will also be an emphasis on how transactional lawyers can ethically increase the probability of a "correct" arbitration award and ethical considerations for arbitrators -- and what happens if they are violated.

"I enjoy the process of enlightening others and an open discussion of our very complex field of law. I am thrilled to be invited by ICSC and am looking forward to the October seminar," says Mazirow. In his Century City practice, Mazirow is a renowned Real Estate Arbitrator, Mediator, and Expert Witness. Mazirow was awarded 2010's prestigious Outstanding Real Estate Lawyer Award by the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
