Armory Hires Alex Bello as VP of Product as Spinnaker Gains Enterprise Momentum
San Mateo, CA, December 14, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Armory, a San Mateo, CA based technology company that accelerates its customers’ software deployment velocity, announced the addition of Alex Bello to its leadership team as VP of Product. The expansion of the executive team will enable Armory to scale product development, drive new revenue streams, and grow its customer base.
Alex joined Armory from Lookout – the market leader in mobile security – where he was the Head of Platform Engineering, responsible for the API, Auth, Data and Continuous Delivery Engineering teams. As part of this role, he transformed the way Lookout delivers its cloud software using Spinnaker, significantly increasing engineering velocity, reducing operational risks and infrastructure costs. Prior to that Alex was VP of Engineering, Platform at Lithium (acquired by Vista) - the market leader in social media management, where he led the business through the cloud and continuous delivery transformation. Alex brings more than ten years of experience building and implementing automation frameworks, teams, and platforms to increase engineering velocity while maintaining quality and safety.
In a recent Forrester survey, 64% of respondents said that their businesses are dissatisfied with the time it takes to release new features for customers. A number of factors are encumbering velocity such as approvals for changes to production environments and the lack of automation across the software delivery lifecycle. Only 34% of respondents say that the complete life cycle, from development to production, is automated.
“Being able to deliver software quickly to any cloud, while maintaining quality and safety is a key business differentiator and has a direct impact on customer experience. I'm excited to be part of a company that is transforming how companies deliver software at scale, led by visionary founders and backed with strong opensource technology and community.” said Alex Bello.
“Spinnaker is quickly becoming a mission-critical part of a company’s software delivery strategy. As more businesses move to the cloud, the need for enterprise-grade products and support around Spinnaker becomes urgent,” said Daniel R. Odio, CEO of Armory. “We’re excited to bring on a seasoned Silicon Valley executive with impressive enterprise platform, security background and product vision who will be instrumental in helping to guide Armory’s continued growth trajectory.”
“Armory has experienced strong growth as Spinnaker usage continues to accelerate,” said Ben Mappen, CPO of Armory. “Organizations of all sizes and industries are embracing Spinnaker to enable them to deliver software faster and with better quality, and we’re thrilled to add Alex to my team as we continue to build on our mission to help companies build better software.”
