Aostamodel 1/43 Handbuilt Scale Car Model Car And Dioramas Showroom

AOSTA, Italy - Aostamodel is a site displaying 143 scale model cars and motoring dioramas scratchbuilt by Alberto, able craftman in the field. This stuff is the result of a strong passion for "modeling small" using own hands.

It is over 30 years he enjoys creating elaborate masterpieces and in 2007 he got online.

It is the son that provides advices and manual work in the realization of dioramas like Mille Miglia, F1 pit-stops, Targa Florio and 24H Du Mans, besides documentation is fundamental: sports car books, motoring magazines and web sites are usefull to take inspiration.

The Models are handbuilt starting from white metal or resin kits containing all the main parts of a car. Over 5000 metal and resin kits, built in more than 30 years, prove the skills that Alberto acquired during this period. A lot of experience which is reflected in the final result. Glue, tweezers, a welder and a lathe are only a small part of the professional equipment needed in order to start a good work.

An example of customization is the McLaren MP 4/6 World Champion 1991. The model was built on a Tameo WCT base. Every single part was modified to obtain the most realistic result as possible. External wiring of various junction boxes was created from scratch. The cockpit was re-built by adding new details, especially the photoengraved seat belts, painted in the typical anodised blue.Other cockpit details include: micro-rivets, various pipes, medic air duct etc.

Particular care was taken to engine construction by adding dozens of details like intake trumpets, injection system, candle wires with relative pins, oil tanks (obtained in nickel), radiators turned junctions etc. Car body was painted in McLaren fluorescent orange, a surely more realistic technique than using decals... In all, more than 200 components were built from scratch and added to the original kit in order to manufacture this model. The incredible magic of these "small" cars stand in the whole of this knowledge.

Cars have a place of prestige in our society, it is even a status symbol, a must that "I have to possede" and a small reproduction is something unique, a pleasure that mostly resides in the act of creating a single "chunk" after years of hard experimentation.
