Anesthesia Business Group QCDR Measures Approved

Anesthesia Business Group gets 27 QCDR measures approved for 2016

The Anesthesia Business Group Qualified Clinical Data Registry (ABG QCDR) announced that it has received final approval for 27 non-PQRS measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for the 2016 reporting year.  These measures cover 5 NQS domains and include 18 outcome measures so that anesthesia groups can easily find practical and meaningful measures that meet all CMS requirements for obtaining PQRS credit. Their intent is to collect relevant QI measures that are practical while also keeping the burden of data collection to a minimum.

The Anesthesia Business Group focuses is on meeting the needs of private practice medicine, and  services extend beyond the QCDR. It is a federally qualified Patient Safety Organization, and its Clinical Data Warehouse allows participants to benchmark themselves against other private practice anesthesia groups in a blinded fashion. They also host a customized management and leadership course at the Wharton School of Business each year for 35 participants. Regular meetings include anesthesia industry updates and networking dinners.

"This was a very difficult year for QCDRs, and many had a large number of their non-PQRS measures rejected. ABG is gratified to have such a good result" said Dr. Ross Musumeci
