Amy Johnson's New Book "Lessons From the Crawl Space: How to Find Hope in Life's Dark Places" is an Intimate Devotional That Brings Grace and Light Into Life's Darkness.

Recent release "Lessons from the Crawl Space: How to find hope in life's dark places" from Covenant Books author Amy Johnson is a uniquely inspired personal devotional that draws from memories of the author's childhood hideaway, a secret spot that taught her crucial lessons in faith, above all that one is never alone or completely helpless, even in the darkness.

Amy Johnson, a married mother of three from Belfair, Washington, who actively gives back to the ministry and the community, has completed her new book, “Lessons from the Crawl Space: How to find hope in life’s dark places”:  a transformational devotional.

Amy shares, “The space was dank and damp. It smelled of earth yet filled me with a peace that is hard to explain. I can still picture the small box of books and the carpet bag full of small toys and strings. Things I used to make my little creations.

If I sit in a corner, close my eyes, and wrap my arms tightly around my legs, I can still go there. I can see it, smell it, and feel it.

My refuge, my comfort in times of trouble, Jesus met me there in that little underground room. It was a crawl space under the wooden toy box in my room in the house where I grew up. Dirt floor, a few spiders, the smell of decaying earth—as an adult, it seems uninviting. The thought of the cramped quarters makes it seem even more so. But to me, that crawl space was camouflage; it was safety.

So, you may ask—Why go back? Why would I want to? Why allow my mind to travel back to times of pain, fear, or terror? Is there a reason I would want to return to the nightmares of a five- to eight-year-old girl? Yes—because by remembering the fear, I see clearly the face and hear clearly the voice of the one who saved me and because to me, that crawl space was hidden.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Amy Johnson’s new book is a heartfelt reminder of how God is in the business of building up every believer, even if it means periods of darkness, life’s cocoons and furnaces.
