Upcoming installment to focus on regulations surrounding the cannabis industry.
TULSA, Okla., July 9, 2018 (Newswire.com) - AmericanChecked Inc., a nationally accredited, native/woman-owned background screening company based in Tulsa, Okla., has launched the Lunchbox Learning Webinar Series. The webinars are free and feature experts from a variety of industries, including human resources, technology, gaming, and tribal enterprises.
The next webinar will be held at 11:30 a.m. CST on July 11, 2018, and will cover the complex regulations facing the legal cannabis industry and considerations a business enterprise should include to ensure that their licensing processes and framework protect both their company and their customers.
Dave Vialpando, Executive Director of the Santa Ysabel Tribal Cannabis Regulatory Agency, will take attendees through the legal challenges associated with cannabis enterprises located on both tribal and non-tribal lands. He will also provide information on establishing oversight and accountability controls such as suitability licensing for both employees and vendors.
Vialpando is a 37-year law enforcement veteran, having served as a police officer in Richmond, California, and later as a Special Agent with the California Attorney General’s Department of Justice (DOJ). He spent 20 years in the DOJ’s Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement where he supervised various drug trafficking and violent crime units. He also served as the Special Agent-in-Charge of the Bureau of Gambling Control’s Southern California offices.
Upon retirement from law enforcement, Vialpando received his California Private Investigator’s license. In addition to his role on the Cannabis Regulatory Agency, he also serves as the Chairman of the Santa Ysabel Tribal Gaming Commission as well as the California Native American Cannabis Association and is the President and CEO of the Institute for Criminal Justice Training.
He has authored articles for trade publications on gaming regulation and interactive gaming, as well as two books, "Warrior with a Badge" and "Criminal Justice in Crisis: New Paradigms in Law Enforcement."
