Allen Buckley, Georgia Libertarian U.S. Senate Candidate, Again Seeks Debates

For the second time, Allen Buckley, the Libertarian Party of Georgia’s U.S. Senate candidate for 2016, has challenged Senator Johnny Isakson and Jim Barksdale to a series of debates to cover topics of importance to the nation and Georgia.  Mr. Buckley’s campaign issued a six debates challenge on June 10th, but no response was received from either the Isakson campaign or the Barksdale campaign.

Mr. Buckley said:  “Senator Isakson, Mr. Barksdale and I will be the three people on the ballot in November.  The people of Georgia need to know where we stand on the issues.  Thus, I challenge Mr. Barksdale and Mr. Isakson to a series of six weekly 60-minute debates to begin the second week of September.  The topics will be those agreed upon, but they will be of the greatest significance to our country and our state.  If we cannot agree on the topics, the media can select the topics.”

Buckley also said: “With $19 trillion of debt, our country is broke.  Tough choices should be made now.  I have solutions.  My opponents offer nothing but more debt.”

Mr. Buckley was previously a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2004 and 2008.  In 2008, Mr. Buckley garnered 128,002 votes in the General Election, forcing a run-off between Saxby Chambliss and Jim Martin.
