Aika Trading Announces Prizewinning Sandwichbike's Model WF2 at This Year's Dutch Design Week in The Netherlands

On October 18th, 2014 through to October 26th 2014 in the Netherlands where prizewinning Sandwichbike's Model WF2 was showcased with other innovative Dutch design.

Last year, Dutch Design Week was held on October 18th, 2014 through to October 26th 2014 in the Netherlands where prizewinning Sandwichbike’s Model WF2 was showcased with other innovative Dutch design. The Sandwichbike is unique thanks to the use of non-traditional and sustainable materials and offers an extreme smooth ride that needs to be experienced in person.

This is the second time that one of the brands Aika Trading brings to North America is featured at the Dutch Design week. In 2012 EGG (multisport helmets for kids) was present and organized a successful design competition for kids, where kids were encouraged to design their own EGG skins.

The Dutch Design Week started twelve years ago and still is a non-commercial fair where design, industry and business are brought together. More than 250,000 people visited the event this year. The Dutch Design week has become the platform for International design. As the event took place at 86 different locations in the Dutch city of Eindhoven bike rentals were provided for attendees.

Most recently, the Sandwichbike has won the award for GIO2014, acknowledging its many attractive qualities including design usability, functionality, quality materials, and originality. Additionally, earlier this year the Sandwichbike’s Model WF2 has also won the Product Design Award and the Core77 award.

The Sandwichbike is now available at Aika Trading, where you can find other Dutch design bicycles as well. To learn more come out to or visit the Aika Trading website at http://aikatrading.com/.

About Aika Trading
Aika Trading is a bicycle and bicycle accessory importing and distribution company that began when Anne-Marij Berendsen moved with her family from the Netherlands to the U.S. in 2008. In the Netherlands, cycling is a popular method of transportation because of their bike friendly infrastructure, public policy, geography, and laws. As a result, the Dutch have been able to develop practical and innovative bicycles and equipment, and this is exactly what Anne-Marij Berendsen brought with her when she started Aika Trading. Over the years, Aika Trading has expanded to import and distribute a large line of quality European-designed products to people throughout North America and recently started a retail location as well in Santa Monica.
