Afropolitans United Retreat and Conference
Denver, CO, February 2, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Yowa Events, LLC is hosting a premiere and unique event — Afropolitans United.
The event will be held throughout Denver, CO, March 17 – 19. There will be retreat activities on the 17th and 18th. Activities include a ski resort trip, happy hours and salsa dancing. Then a day to celebrate and educate in the name of Africa on the 19th. We have partnered with African Community Center of Denver they will be selling authentic African merchandise to support their campaign which helps women refugees. Grammy-nominated music educator DJ Cavem and his wife, Alkemia Earth, will be keynote presenters. We chose Afrikmall as the location for the event since it is the ONLY African-themed mall in the United States.
We often hear about all the problems and divisions in this world, we would like for this event to open up dialogue and get us all to unite. In addition, all the confirmed partners for the event are doing amazing work and we want them to get as much support as possible.
There have been events for Congolese only, Ghanaians only, Nigerians only, Ethiopians only, etc. but rarely are there events where all Africans and those who care about Africa are invited to come together to not only have fun but also to build each other up. This is the first year for this event and we’re hoping it won't be the last. It will be beautiful to see what kind of connections, ideas and memories come from this event.
