Over the years world explorers and journalists have grossed our mental library shelves with safaris and expeditions to Africa, leaving audiences worldwide to believe the only thing that exists on the continent are wild animals and constant struggle. However, in this documentary Hannah Faye presents an Africa that challenges the preconceived notions.

In March 2012, Hannah Faye took an unforgettable five month trip to Dakar, Senegal (West Africa). Without knowing the language properly enough to exchange money, she was able to accomplish some amazing things, which included conducting interviews with directors of schools, radio and television broadcasts.

Upon returning to the states, Faye took her time in publishing her experience in a variety of ways which include making the most beautiful photos from the trip available, a photo journal, a book, containing a more intimate personal look into her experience, and of course a film documentary. The documentary comes in two parts and is a compilation of footage taken from the actual trip. See how she reconnected with the people and submersed herself in a rich, fun and vibrant culture. This is one woman's trip across the Atlantic you definitely won't want to miss.

All Afreconnect products are now available online. In addition, Afreconnect will be shown and hosted by Hannah Faye herself at an Independent Theatre located right in Chicago, IL on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Mark your calendars now!
