Adventures In The Alps - Celebrity-Hosted Summer Holidays Revealed

Adventures In The Alps is pleased to announce its enhanced itinerary of celebrity-hosted holidays for summer 2011.

Adventures In The Alps is pleased to announce its enhanced itinerary of celebrity-hosted holidays for summer 2011. The luxury travel company provides first class activity and leisure breaks to the French Alps hosted by renowned names from the international sporting world. The trips focus on increasing physical and mental wellbeing by combining fitness and relaxation into accessible and flexible itineraries.

Improving overall health and fitness is firmly on the mainstream agenda and an alternative type of holiday is a great way to help combat this issue. If the UK's eating and exercise habits don't change, by 2050 around 90% of the population will be obese.

Our celebrity hosts come from a wide spectrum of sporting backgrounds:

Sally Gunnell, OBE - the only woman to hold four major track titles concurrently; Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth.

Dean Macey - best known for competing in the decathlon and for his medal wins at the World Championship and Commonwealth Games.

Christine Hemphill - the current Australian and World long course triathlon champion.

Liz Yelling - two-time Olympic marathon runner and Commonwealth Games medalist.

Yanto Barker - highest placed British cyclist in the 2005 Tour of Britain; he has also competed in the Commonwealth Games and World Championships.

Sample activities include; walking, hiking, scrambling, running, via ferrata, canyoning, cycling, biking, swimming, kayaking, water-skiing, sailing, wind surfing, golf, horse riding, zip wiring, tree climbing, abseiling, paragliding, archery & tennis.

Pip Watkins, owner & managing director said: "the joy of an adventure with us is that you'll experience a whole new world of fun & spend a week with some very inspirational professionals. Our approach is not geared towards 'boot camp' at all and our guests get to participate in what they want at the speed and pace they want. Our adventures also include fine wine, food and some of the best non-physical leisure pursuits the Alps offer such as writing, poetry & the arts."

Prices start from £900 per person per week and include gourmet food and drink, 5* luxury accommodation, activities, therapies and private airport transfers. Flights are not included - but are available from approximately £25 each way (example: London to Geneva on Easyjet).
