Aava Introduces Inaugural Soup and Plate Set, Adds to Kitchenware Line

An pre-dinner serving of gazpacho - or any soup, for that matter - won't be the same if it doesn't come in the new soup and plate set recently released by Nordic-inspired homeware designer Aava.

The set is cast from pure white porcelain and is designed to serve a variety of purposes, not the least of which is to present a bowl of hot soup and a delicate, delicious sandwich.

Aava’s Soup & Plate Set lets you present your meal in elegant style,” the set’s product description reads. “Inspired by the way a rain drop can splash (into water) yet still maintain its symmetrical shape, the soup bowl and the plate both rise slightly higher on one side giving you the illusion of contained fluidity in a minimalist design.”

The angle of the plate and the bowl is just apparent enough to create a sense of gentle movement, no doubt a nod to the water allusion in its description.

That the Soup and Plate pay homage to the natural world is no surprise.

“Minimalist expression is inspired by the natural world to create items that are both highly functional and opulent,” the company’s About Us page reads.

The new duo of plate and porcelain vessel is one of nine different kitchenware pieces the company launched over the past month. Each piece, whether, soup bowl, container or carafe, reflects the unique, stunning design that typifies the Aava brand.

Aava creates premium products designed to meet the tastes of our highly discerning customers who enjoy aesthetically pleasing elegance and minimalism,” Aava’s website says. “Each piece is crafted with beautiful lines and exquisite modern styling to make a subtle statement about excellent quality and sleek minimalist preference.”

Like many of the pieces in the company’s new line of kitchenware, the Soup & Plate Set is a highly functional item for just about any kitchen. Chowders, broths, noodle soups and soups with cream bases are all excellent ideas for this set.

It’s simple, straightforward design evokes images of a hearty helping of beef stew steaming up from the bowl while a thick slice of artisan bread lies next to it on the plate.

The set functions well in the summertime, too. Its subtle lines and soft white coloration pairing well with a garden party or a pre-dinner course of chilled soup.

“Whatever is on your menu, Aava’s Soup & Plate Set lets you serve with style and a functionality that is as whimsical as it is practical,” the set’s product description reads.

Aava’s kitchenware collection ranges in price from $89 for their Natural White Ceramic jar and their Matching Mug & Plate Set to $329 for their 14-Piece Amuse Bouche Serving Set.
