A Soccer Goal Worth Thousands

Amount Donated To Hispanic Scholarship Fund During Month-Long Tourney Totaled 100K; Hensley Beverage Company Helps On Local Level

For each goal scored during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser pledged to donate $500 to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). But with only 145 goals scored in South Africa, the lowest total since the tournament switched to a 64-game format, the King of Beers was not satisfied.
To mark Spain's first-ever FIFA World Cup trophy, Anheuser-Busch donated $28,000 for the single goal scored during the championship match - bringing the final support as part of this special program to $100,000.
On a local level, Hensley Beverage Company augmented Anheuser-Busch's efforts with World Cup custom point-of-sale and supportive marketing materials in key Latino accounts throughout the Phoenix metro market. According to Luis Mendoza, vice president ethnic marketing, "Hensley has been a loyal supporter of the Latino community for decades and the World Cup soccer program to benefit HSF was one example of our continued commitment to our valued Latino consumers."
