A Brand New Look for the Aegean Odyssey

The premium class cruise ship, MV Aegean Odyssey, is undergoing a revamp after heeding the demands of its passengers. Additional higher category staterooms will be made available from March 2013.

The Aegean Odyssey sails all over the world, from the beautiful Mediterranean, Adriatic and Aegean Seas, to far flung destinations like India, the Red Sea and the Far East. Its cultural cruises aim to bring holidaymakers new experiences, a lesson in history and enhance their knowledge of the world.

Now, the ship is undergoing major changes at the request of its customers. Demand for the highest category staterooms has escalated and the company, Voyages to Antiquity, has responded to the requests by incorporating 18 new deluxe and superior outside staterooms, which will be located on the Lido Deck.

To make room, the Jacuzzi and Spa have been relocated to the Columbus Deck, alongside the gym, medical centre and a mixture of standard and premium cabins, both inside and outside.

The new staterooms will be a generous 215 square feet with a private bathroom or W.C. with walk-in shower. They will be bright, airy and well appointed, with light coloured wooden fixtures and mirrored wardrobe doors to create a sense of space. With their own seating area, guests can really kick back and relax. Some of the deluxe rooms will be even bigger, offering 275 square feet of space, as well as a private balcony with deckchairs and a table.

The Aegean Odyssey has undergone several transformations in the past. Once used as a ferry, she was reborn as the Aegean Dolphin after conversion to a cruise ship in 1988. It was bought by Voyages to Antiquity in 2009 for their cultural cruises and its passenger capacity was reduced from 570 to 380, creating a much more spacious and luxurious ambience.

The ship also offers a choice of restaurants, a sumptuous Piano Bar, a sunbathing area, an outdoor swimming pool, a shop and relaxing lounges, making cultural cruises even more luxurious.
