1st Security Bank of Washington Honored With ABA Foundation Community Commitment Award

1st Security Bank of Washington was nationally recognized by the American Bankers Association Foundation for its work with the IF Project and received the 2017 Community Commitment Award. The award was given to 1st Security for its efforts in the Financial Education category and will be presented during the ABA’s Annual Convention in Chicago on Oct. 17.

The program is part of a comprehensive mentoring initiative that helps female inmates incarcerated at the Washington Corrections Center for Women prepare for reentry into a successful life outside of prison. Bank employees, including leadership, facilitate financial literacy sessions with the goal of providing practical knowledge regarding the management of money.
