Independence University and Stevens-Henager College Collaborate to Offer Enhanced Programs

Independence University (IU) and Stevens-Henager College (SHC) have created an affiliated relationship with the aim of enhancing the courses already available at IU as well as introducing new degree programs.

In a bid to enhance their students' academic experience, two well-known names in the field of post-secondary online education, Independence University and Stevens-Henager College, have decided to join hands.

Independence University (IU) and Stevens-Henager College (SHC) have created an affiliated relationship with the aim of enhancing the courses already available at IU as well as introducing new degree programs. As a result of this relationship, Independence University has become a branch campus of the Stevens-Henager College, Ogden/West Haven main campus, and will work to expand its academic offerings over the next year.

IU will not only integrate the programs currently available at Stevens-Henager into its curriculum, but will also look to add more healthcare-related specialties to its repertoire of career-oriented academic courses. In addition, students should see enhancements to various programs already offered by Independence University, as well as an expansion of its nursing degree programs.

The university is also working toward establishing a real-time tutoring program. The program, focused on developing math and writing skills, will be made available to IU students.

Independence University's management is confident that the affiliation with Stevens-Henager will result in better online content, improved student-faculty interaction, and more.

The changes are in step with an improvement plan drafted by Independence University's Director of Education, Dr. Robert Anderson. His vision is to bring IU programs to par with the current academic requirements of each career field, through constant enhancements to the curriculum. The newly created collaborative relationship with Stevens-Henager College is a substantial effort in that direction.

Established in 1891, Stevens-Henager is known for offering career-oriented and up-to-date programs in nursing, accounting, business administration, computer science, graphic arts, and many other sought-after career fields.
