FDM Group Marks Its Place In History With A Grand Opening At 14 Wall St
Online, April 25, 2011 (Newswire.com) - This month FDM held an exclusive event welcoming circa seventy VIPs to join them in celebrating the grand opening of their prestigious office and Academy training center in New York. The event was hosted in J.P. Morgan's former apartment, where FDM has kept many of the original features including the bar, fireplace and decadent wooden flooring.
14 Wall Street is a unique landmark in downtown Manhattan, which resembles a temple in the sky. This seven-story stepped pyramid was modeled on one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, possessing a fascinating history dating back to the ancient Greeks. The building was originally constructed for the Bankers Trust in 1910 and was completed in 1912. Almost 100 years later, FDM Group, otherwise known as the UK's largest IT graduate recruiter sets foot on 14 Wall Street, paving its future whilst making its mark in history. The Bankers Trust adopted the pyramid as its trademark, and took as its slogan "A Tower of Strength", which reflects FDM's impressive growth and expansion. Instantly a standard-bearer in the downtown skyline, the 31st floor of 14 Wall Street is now home to FDM in New York City. With views overlooking the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Hall and the Statue of Liberty, the 6,709-square-foot space features ample capacity to accommodate graduates undertaking the Academy Program.
With a 92% turnover growth from USA in 2009, FDM continues to experience huge client demand. Senior leaders from world-renowned banks such UBS, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Misys, Barclays Capital, Morgan Stanley, UBS and Lloyds were all in attendance at this event. FDM also attracted press representatives from CBS News, Fox Business Network, Thomson Reuters and Gotham Gazette.
The launch of FDM's award-winning Academy Program in the USA has been extremely successful and the training rooms have almost reached full capacity. This unique graduate program is creating more opportunities for US graduates as well as helping to tackle the IT skills shortage worldwide. These graduates are transformed into professional IT Consultants, who progress to represent FDM at some of the world's largest companies.
Rod Flavell, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FDM delivered an inspiring speech during the event, which humbled the audience: "2011 is FDM's 20th year in business and the year we set foot on Wall Street. I am honored to be here today and to celebrate this milestone with all of you. I would like to thank my fellow colleagues on the Board of Directors and all our clients for their ongoing support. FDM has achieved great success in the past twenty years, which is testament to the loyalty of our clients and dedication of our staff. Despite our growing international presence, FDM remains focused on delivering excellence to each and every one of our clients; wherever in the world they may be. FDM is a people business and we take pride in providing an exceptional service to clients, a great job for employees and a valuable contribution to the wider economy."
