Did UFO Filmmaker Find Government Cover-Up Answers From David Icke?
Online, February 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - When "The Top Secret UFO Project," R. J. Thomas' parody of UFO documentaries and government cover-ups, first appeared for sale online, there were, as Mr. Thomas anticipated, many unusual reactions.
Most recently, Mr. Thomas received an e-mail from "King David II" with the title, "Little Green Men." The message said, "Maybe this is why they are silent." There was a link to a page from the website of David Icke, the famed conspiracy author and lecturer.
"David Icke or an associate must have seen one of the wire service stories about my film," Mr. Thomas said. "This e-mail was their way of letting me know that they had the answers to government cover-ups."
Since 1990, Mr. Icke has devoted himself to researching what he calls "who and what is really controlling the world" and describes himself as "the most controversial speaker and author in the world."
Mr. Icke believes in the theory that a secret group of reptilian humanoids created and control humanity, and that the "Reptilians" can take human form and rule over us through political leadership. He believes that many prominent figures are reptilian, including George W. Bush, Queen Elizabeth II, Kris Kristofferson, and Boxcar Willie.
"I've heard Bush called a lot of things," Mr. Thomas said. "But never a reptile."
Mr. Thomas' film, "The Top Secret UFO Project," chronicles the UFO-related events experienced by Jasper, a tiny Colorado hamlet some 75 miles south of Denver. According to the film, the town dealt with one unusual event after another in the summer of 1956, while scientists appeared on the scene to investigate, reporters swooped in looking for stories, and government officials rushed in to keep it a secret from the world.
Billed as "the movie the government does not want you to see," "The Top Secret UFO Project," is a parody of the cheesy UFO documentaries of the 70's like "Overlords of the UFO," and of TV programs like "In Search Of."
"Mr. Icke believes reptilians control us from the forth dimension, not outer space," Mr. Thomas said. "He thinks that the idea of creatures from outer space has been taught to us by movies and television."
And did Mr. Thomas learn something new as to why government cover-ups have been so common involving aliens?
"I've heard many unusual theories," Mr. Thomas said. "But the reptilian one is the most unusual of them all. With events like Roswell, you picture a bunch of cold and nervous higher-ups carefully keeping information from the public. That is what my film is a parody of. But if the government is made up of lizards who control us, if they have that much power, then there is really no reason for them to be nervous about covering up anything!"
Mr. Thomas has been a guest on "The 'X' Zone," Rob McConnell's internationally-syndicated radio program which specializes in the unusual and the unexplained.
