DataLink's Innovative Cloud and Collocation Services Offer Energy Savings with MicroMetering
Online, July 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - DataLink Interactive has signed a collocation agreement with AiNET - a Beltsville, MD-based data center collocation provider. AiNET will provide Tier IV (Carrier Grade) Data Center capabilities for DataLink clients implementing its ProLink Private Cloud and Collocation services.
"Our clients understand that they can overcome local power issues or Internet provider service interruptions when they move their server and computing equipment to a safer, reliable location, such as DataLink's AiNET collocation space," noted DataLink president, Mylon Staton. "DataLink's VirtualizeIT clients can work from anywhere and from any device - an iPad, home computer, or laptop - utilizing, for example, WiFi at Starbucks or their broadband access at home."
AiNET, which is developing CyberNAP, the region's largest data center, offered DataLink MicroMetering as a cost-effective solution to cloud power usage. MicroMetering data center customers achieve cost-savings of up to 70% because they only pay for their actual power usage, a far more affordable approach over time than the conventional "flat rate, one price fits all" model.
Staton noted that AiNET is one of a very few certified SAS 70 Type II, TIA-942 Tier IV data centers with an in-depth understanding and appreciation for environments surrounding clients' critical infrastructure and the applications they rely on to run their businesses.
"DataLink clients are embracing Cloud and Virtual technologies at a break neck speed. AiNET's MicroMetering is a perfect fit for us," said Staton. "We're delighted with the service because lower energy costs will enable our ProLink Cloud and Collocation clients to save too."
"AiNET saw how power was being delivered and charged to collocation customers, and ultimately charging the high price wasn't serving anyone," said AiNET president Deepak Jain. "We developed MicroMetering to address the problem."
