Malibu is Open for Business Following California's Most Devastating Wildfire

Malibu Chamber of Commerce Logo

With the holidays just ahead, the Malibu Chamber of Commerce wants the public to know that the iconic city’s shops and stores are open for holiday shopping and dining, and seasonal restaurant offerings. Malibu will be the scene of bright, welcoming holiday events, food, and entertainment starting this weekend:

  • 15th Annual Malibu Christmas Woodie Parade at Malibu at Malibu Village, Sunday, December 9, 3-5 p.m., features the most beloved classic Woodie cars lining the streets of Malibu.

  • The Malibu Pier offers its own yule vibe with the Santa Lucia Christmas Celebration, December 9, 5-7 p.m., featuring two shows. Then, there’s Breakfast with Santa, December 24, 10 a.m. – no reservations needed.

  • The Malibu Lumber Yard, center courtyard, holds its Merry Merry Malibu, December 15, 2-5 p.m. offering holiday crafts for the kiddos, carolers, live holiday entertainment holiday drinks and small bites, snowfall at sunset, and donation center for fire victims.

  • Malibu Country Mart hosts FREE holiday family events, Saturdays, December 15 & 22, 12-4 p.m., for free photos with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, carolers, live reindeer, arts and crafts, and more.

The recovery of Malibu’s retail community speaks to the collaborative effort of a large network of agencies, outreach from businesses and volunteers, fundraising endeavors, and the efficiency with which roads and communications are being repaired. During the fire, now 100 percent contained, the tight-knit community mounted an intensive community effort to help both those in personal need and the business community.
