Irish Crystal Co: Disney The Most Collectible Of Collectible Swarovski Figurines
Online, May 7, 2013 (Newswire.com) - There's no doubt that Disney is a top name in collectibles. From animation art to plush toys, movies to apparel, if it has to do with Disney, collectors want it! When Swarovski collaborated with Disney in 2005 to create the first Swarovski Crystal Disney figurine collection , it was no surprise it became an instant hit with both crystal figurine and Disney collectors alike. Since 2005, Swarovski has created a total of six Disney collections as well as individual Limited Edition Disney figurines and re-creations of some of the most beloved Disney characters.
FIGURINE COLLECTIONS
The first Disney figurine collection was the Disney Showcase Collection released in 2005, which included 6 beautifully crafted figurines: Goofy, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Pluto, Mickey Mouse, and Minnie Mouse. This collection sparkles in faceted clear crystal with jet crystal accents and is very hard to find, since all figurines have been retired.
The second collection, featuring Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore, was released in 2007 and retired in 2010. Although the retired collection is hard to find, Swarovski has released an entirely new set of Winnie the Pooh characters in bright sapphire, topaz, rosaline, and light siam crystal colors. Irish Crystal Co. has both the new Eeyore and Tigger figurines in stock whether you are starting a new collection or adding to an existing one.
Following the Winnie the Pooh release, Swarovski released another beloved set of characters: The Bambi Collection. Bambi, Flower, Friend Owl and Thumper were released in 2008 and have since been retired. The Disney Thumper figurine by Swarovski has always been a favorite among collectors, and although this little fellow has been retired, Irish Crystal Co. has a very limited number of these figurines on sale. Beautifully crafted, Thumper is created from faceted clear crystal, his nose sparkles in Rose crystal and his eyes gleam in Jet crystal.
With 8 figurines, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves make up the largest Swarovski Crystal Disney collection to date. Released in 2009, this collection has since been retired and is becoming difficult to find.
In 2010 Swarovski released the Lion King Collection which included 4 figurines: Mufasa, Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa. While this collection has been retired and sold out by many retailers, Irish Crystal Co. still has Simba and Timon figurines available. Both Simba and Timon have been crafted in faceted clear crystal with cheerful Jet crystal eyes and accents of gleaming gold crystal. These beloved Lion King figurines won't last long, so don't wait until it's too late!
The latest collection, released in 2011, is Peter Pan. This collection is Swarovski's smallest Disney release, with only 2 figurines: Tinker Bell and Peter Pan. This lovely set has not yet been retired. Peter Pan and Tinker Bell are both made from clear crystal and wear outfits of sparkling Olivine crystal. Each have exquisite details, making them a real treasure for collectors.
LIMITED EDITION FIGURINES
Since the first collaboration with Disney, Swarovski has released several Limited Edition Disney figurines, the first of which was Tinker Bell in 2008. In 2009, two Mickey figurines were released: Mickey Mouse Large Sorcerer and Mickey Mouse Sorcerer Small, each having unique poses and details. In 2010 Swarovski created a Disney Pinocchio Limited Edition figurine in faceted clear crystal with black diamond crystal and medium sapphire crystal accents.
In 2011, Swarovski introduced a Limited Edition Dumbo figurine to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the animated Disney film. Although this figurine was only available through 2011 before being retired, Irish Crystal Co. has a very limited stock still available for purchase, but they won't last long. Once this beautiful retired figurine sells out, it won't be available again.
For the Limited Edition release in 2012, Swarovski again released two figurines of the same character. This time it was Stitch from the popular movie "Lilo and Stitch." The two figurines are very similar looking, but one, Experiment 626 had a limited release of only 626 figurines and came with a collar and a special experiment 626 plaque to set it apart from the other Limited Edition Stitch Figurine. That same year a Christmas Tinker Bell Limited Edition figurine was also released, featuring an adorable Santa hat and red dress made from vibrant Light Siam.
The newest Disney Limited Edition release is Swarovski Steamboat Willie Limited Edition 2013. This two-piece set features Mickey and Minnie Mouse from their 1928 debut cartoon and gleams in black diamond and clear crystal. Not only is it unique in that it celebrates the first Mickey film, but also in that it is one release with two separate figurines that fit together as one, or can be displayed separately. Irish Crystal Co. is excited to have this Mickey Mouse collectible in their shop and available to Disney collectors.
Irish Crystal Co., an online retailer of Swarovski and Waterford Crystal collectibles, has a selection of Swarovski Disney figurines, including some limited edition and retired Swarovski Disney characters for sale. Whether you are looking for a new, limited edition, or retired Swarovski Disney figurine, Irish Crystal Co. has many in stock and if you can't find what you are looking for, don't hesitate to inquire about specific hard to find figurines.
