"The Tweet Pitch". Entrepreneurs, Students, Up-and-Coming Business Owners—Tweet Your Ideas to CEOS and Investors in 140 Words or Less!
Online, February 24, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Imagine being in an elevator with a renowned CEO or investor! Would you be able to pitch an idea in the time before the elevator door opens? Would you be able to convince the CEO that your idea could result in large profits for his company? That your product will lead to big advancements in his company's industry? Would you be able to convince the investor that she should invest in your product? If you answered yes to these questions, then you may be a "Woxoprenuer".
The Woxsen School of Business in Hyderabad has launched the "Tweet Pitch", an innovative contest. The institute has since its inception focused on the dissemination of ideas and products. Elevator Pitches for business plans have been common testing grounds for new ideas. However, with the important role of technology in the 21st century, Woxsen is now implementing a new approach to this idea. Instead of condensing your pitch into a 30 seconds explanation on an elevator, the "Tweet Pitch" contest asks hopeful entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas in 140 characters or less. Participants will be asked to describe the essence of their products, and they will be asked to show how their product and/or ideas are different from other ideas. So, participants will have to be able to fully and adequately explain the unique aspects of their product and how it can make a significant splash in the marketplace.
This contest is, with its use of Twitter, a sign of the changing times. It is also a contest with a significant reward—INR 25,000 per month. For a recent graduate, or a budding entrepreneur, this is a significant amount of money that can help jumpstart a business and career. As mentioned by Mr. Rajat Kumar Ghosh Chowdhury, Director - Marketing & Communication "We at Woxsen believe that it's essential for every prospective Entrepreneur (including aspiring ones) to have his/her elevator pitch polished and ready for every opportunity that comes their way." The faculty and administration at Woxsen feels it is necessary that every entrepreneur or student is able to pitch their idea on the spot. Whether it is in an interview with a business magazine or at a university presentation, individuals should be able to clearly and efficiently pitch their idea to an eager crowd… and to an eager businessman or businesswoman. This is what it takes to compete in today's national and global economic climate. And, this is the goal of Woxsen: to give students and entrepreneurs the tools necessary to achieve success within the economic set up of the 21st century.
With the introduction of this contest and their newest mantra, "The Tweet Pitch", Woxsen School of Business hopes to hear from India's best and brightest minds. In order to enter, individuals can visit the contest's webpage: http://www.woxsen.edu.in/site/Woxopreneur.asp. Individuals can record their Business Idea—in the form of a 'WOX'eet—and compete with other burgeoning entrepreneurs and businessmen and women.
Woxsen will record all ideas (or 'WOX'eets) and announce the winner by the 5th of the coming month across all its electronic platforms. An individual can apply only once every month. Good luck to all participants!
