Six Degrees Group Shortlisted For Three Datacentre Europe 2012 Awards

UK's leading managed data services provider - Six Degrees Group has been nominated for three award categories for the fifth annual Datacentres Europe Awards for 2012

Six Degrees Group announces that it has been shortlisted in three categories for the fifth annual Datacentres Europe Awards for 2012. The categories are:

European Award for Cloud Services
European Award for Energy Efficiency in Data Centres
European CxO Award (for CEO Alastair Mills)

Six Degrees Group is the only company to be recognised in three award categories and the only service provider to be shortlisted for a datacentre award and a cloud award, representing the breadth of the company's capabilities.

Earlier in April, Six Degrees Group had also been named as finalist in the following categories at the DCS Awards 2012:

Datacentre Service Provider of the Year
Datacentre Hosting Provider of the Year

The entry for the service provider category focused on a mix of mechanical and engineering (M&E) developments and IT enhancements in the 6DG datacentre portfolio, namely tech refreshes on two older datafloors, the buildout of the Studley cloud platform and the design, build and launch of its newest datafloor, NDF3. The hosting provider entry looked at the evolution of the London and Studley dual-zone diverse cloud platform, with a particular focus on new service creation around private clouds, with some real-life examples of how customers are using hosting and cloud technologies to transform their business.

Commenting on the award nominations, Campbell Williams, group sales and marketing director of Six Degrees Group, stated:

"As we reach our first birthday, these three nominations are testament to how far we have come in our first year as Six Degrees Group. We're committed to running outstanding datacentre facilities and to leveraging them to build superb cloud platforms so it's doubly pleasing to be recognised for both. We're also delighted that our CEO has been recognised for his leadership during a fantastic first year for all at Six Degrees. For us to be finalists along with major industry players like Interxion, Savvis and Telecity is a prestigious accolade."
