Intrigued by phenomenon of reality television, Alaine-Marshall immersed himself in all things Ãœberstar. He talked to former contestants, producers and insiders of numerous reality shows, including the hit television series American Idol and X-Factor. Many people broke confidentiality agreements to tell their stories. Alaine-Marshall wrote Ãœberstar to give the public an explicit look at the world's most watched shows.
