Miami Springs Mayor Zavier Garcia Named Community Honorary Chair of Arthritis Walk Miami-Dade November 16
Online, October 15, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Zavier Garcia, a native-born resident of Miami-Dade and Mayor of Miami Springs, has been named the Community Honorary Chair for the 2013 Arthritis Walk Miami-Dade. The Walk is scheduled for November 16 at Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah, Fla. and generates funds to find a cure for arthritis, which strikes one in three Floridians, one in four women, and one in 250 children.
"I am delighted to partner with the Arthritis Foundation because I know they are working to find a cure for arthritis and improve the quality of life for those of us who live with arthritis," said Garcia, who is 38 and has Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Before being elected Mayor in April 2011, Mayor Garcia served as a Miami Springs Councilman from 2005-09 and served on the City's Code Enforcement Board. Mayor Garcia also runs his own advertising and marketing firm, ZMG Media, Inc.
Mayor Garcia is married to Iliana, a lifelong Miami Springs resident and Registered Nurse at Baptist Hospital, and has three children - Zavier Jr., 12; Alexa-Renee, nine; and Addison-Lee, three.
