Help to Launch The Business Star Magazine in Australia
Online, May 1, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Business Star first went to press in 2012 in Zimbabwe, where it now sells 2800 copies every issue. Towards the end of 2013 we noticed significant growth in Australian traffic to our website and Australian subscriptions to the printed magazine. Along with over 20,000 other Zimbabweans, I too am based in Australia, so it made sense to open office here.
Relations between Australia and Zimbabwe date back many years and not all those years were a match made in heaven! More recently national news headlines around politics and economics reminds us that the ties between our two countries are very much alive. The Business Star highlights the salient aspects and opportunities these ties present to Zimbabweans living in Zimbabwe and Australia
.
Through quality articles from a mix of professional journalists and industry experts, the magazine delivers political, business and social stories fresh from Zimbabweans in Zimbabwe and Australia. From ambassadors, investments and currency legislation to iconic photographs of Zimbabwe's villages and Zimbabwean cultural events across Australian suburbs and country towns, The Business Star stretches across the seas to bring you content that our people will read and share.
The Business Star magazine shines light on the topics that matter to Africans. We are not a breaking-news or broad-commentary brand, already so abundant on hundreds of sites and news feeds. Instead we explore topical headlines deeper and invite our readers to engage in a two-way dialogue, most notably via our big SUBMIT ARTICLE button on the homepage of our new website! This hybrid mix of professional and user-generated content is already proving highly successful in leading publications around the world and we are excited to be at the forefront of this new media.
Our readers are 30 - 65 year old Zimbabwean nationals who take pride in and want to share Zimbabwean social, arts and business experiences, be they in Zimbabwe or Australia.
Regular sections will include advice to Zimbabweans looking to migrate to Australia, including a forum for interaction between new entrants and those who have settled; a featured business profile/opportunity; a summary political column; a round up of social activities past and upcoming; a Zimbabwean feature artist; and our commentary corner, where our readers can voice their opinions at will.
We will interview Zimbabweans who are excelling in their chosen profession, in order that we may all come to understand their lessons, hopes and goals. We aim to bring business principles and case studies to coffee tables, cafes, libraries, hair salons and waiting-rooms, via a print and online publication.
We invite you to share your business insights, experiences and lessons, upcoming social events or news via http://www.thebusinessstar/submit.
You are also cordially invited to participate in our lively social media dialogue. While we cannot guarantee all content submissions will be published, certainly high-quality non advertorial content is our priority.
Share this messages with others you think may enjoy reading or contributing to The Business Star. Follow us on Twitter at @thebusiness, and let us know how we're doing. From one Zimbabwean to another, my team appreciates your support and I look forward to building our presence in Australia.
