ChartSpan Names Robert McCarthy Chief Technology Officer

ChartSpan announces new CTO.

ChartSpan Medical Technologies, one of the most downloaded medical apps in the U.S., has named Robert McCarthy, Chief Technology Officer.

McCarthy joins ChartSpan from LCE (Life Cycle Engineering,) a technology services firm known for its extensive work with the U.S. military and government, where he served as Managing Principal Engineer.

While at LCE, McCarthy managed and architected complex software development and technology projects for numerous branches of the military.  This included acting as Chief Engineer for a large-scale project that deployed multiple software applications and web services for the Air Force.  He played a critical leadership and architecture role in the deployment of cloud based services for the Navy.  He has served in software development, architecture and leadership roles for the Marines and other DoD agencies.

McCarthy has an active Top Secret Security Clearance with the Department of Defense.  He also achieved the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),  Certified Scrum Master (CSM), JBoss SOA-P Certification, Project Management Institute-Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), webMethods Solution Architect, Sun Certified Enterprise Architect and Java Programmer.

McCarthy has 14 years of experience in mobile systems and apps.  He has 12 years of experience as a Software Architect and more than 17 years of experience as a Java Developer.  While working with the military, he built private clouds and assisted in the deployment of applications within the AWS stack.  McCarthy has deep experience with open source technologies, including workflow engines, message brokers, Apache web servers, etc.  He is extensively proficient with Linux and open source platforms.
